FAQ
Will there be a gap in my child's care during the switch?
No. Your current provider is required to continue services through the end of the month, and MedTex takes over starting the next month. This built-in overlap means there's never a gap in your child's care during the transition.
How long does switching providers take?
Once your transfer request is approved, usually within a day or two, your care officially switches over at the start of the following month, since your current provider continues services through month-end. The earlier in the month you submit, the sooner that transition date arrives.
Will my child keep the same schedule and care plan?
Yes, that's our goal. We work to maintain the same approved hours and schedule you already have. If your current nurse is willing to continue with you under MedTex, we can often keep that continuity too.
Do I need new physician orders to switch?
No. In most cases, your currently approved hours carry over from your prior provider. New physician orders are only needed later, at your regular renewal time — not to initiate the switch itself.
Is there any cost to switch providers?
No. There is no cost to switch, and if your child is GAPP-eligible, coverage continues without interruption.
What if I'm not sure my child qualifies for a switch?
Reach out anyway; we'll review your situation and let you know your options, no obligation.
